We will all agree that there is nothing more unpleasant than cleaning the toilet. However, a clean toilet keeps the entire household healthy so having your toilet perfectly clean and fresh-smelling is of vital importance. The good news is, you can make your own homemade toilet cleaner that will eliminate all germs and bacteria and provide fresh smell.
Ingredients:
160 g Baking soda
60 ml Lemon juice
1/2 Tbsp Vinegar
1 Tbsp Hydrogen peroxide (3 %, from the pharmacy)
15-20 drops offragrant oil
Instructions:
In a bowl, put the baking soda and pour in the lemon juice.
Then, in a small container combine the hydrogen peroxide and vinegar. Add drop by drop of this mixture in the baking soda mixture. Finally, add fragrant oil of your choice.
Create half-ball shapes using a spoon and put them on baking paper to dry. Optionally, you can also add a mixture of even parts water and vinegar to the toilet bowl. This will keep the tabs together since it forms a hard crust around them.
The toiled tabs need at least 4 hours to dry, but it`s recommended that you leave them overnight. Keep them in an air-tight glass jar near your toilet as soon as they are completely dry.
As soon as you notice that the toilet is less than fresh smelling, put another tab.
Preparing these tabs may take a bit of time but all the ingredients are inexpensive and easily available. Plus, they are much better for the environment than the commercial toilet cleaning products which contain numerous chemicals.
